Changing our Safety Culture: Do we have the right beliefs?

To get a different safety culture onsite and improved safety results may require change. The effect of ‘norms’ on our behaviour is critical to creating an effective safety culture at a worksite. Once established, these ‘norms’ have a self-reinforcing property and will quickly be adopted by new members joining the team. In this clip, we look at behavioural change and approaches we can use to achieve what we want.
Correct. The traditional behaviourist model focuses on using consequences (positive and negative) to lead to a certain behaviour. By changing the consequences, we shape the behaviour.
